Our story is called It's How You Dance and follows two main characters, a boy and a girl as they get ready for the biggest audition of their lives. Along the way the face different pressures and we see how they ultimately rise to the challenge despite what others might think.
The 2014 year 8s are working hard on the planning, design and choreography at the moment, with 5 awesome 2014 year 9s helping them. We'll get straight into things in Week One of Term One with audition forms going home and an information meeting for students.
Week Two has us heading straight into audition. Auditions are done as a massive group with boys and girls separate. Boys you'll being taught two dances, one is jazz and the other is hip hop and then we'll see how you go and make our decisions from there. Girls same deal except your dances will be contemporary and jazz.
Auditions for lead roles will also take place in Week Two. For these auditions students need to perform a 30sec - 1min dance of their own choice individually.
We'll also have acting call backs for some of the minor lead roles after the big dance auditions.
